Location
Torrox is situated in the south of Spain, on the eastern Costa del Sol. It is roughly 50 kilometres from Malaga Airport and less than 10 kilometres from the town of Nerja and its famous caves. Access to Torrox Costa is fast and easy from the western part of the Costa del Sol or from the city of Malaga or it's airport, on the Mediterranean motorway in the direction of Motril and Almería.
The two main beaches, Ferrara and El Morche, offer all amenities and services.

Climate
Andalucia is one of the warmest regions of Europe. It has a temperate, Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters with irregular rainfall. If there is one feature characteristic of the Andalucian environment, it is the light, a direct result of the great number of hours of sunlight, which marks the cheerful nature and hospitality of the Andalucians.
These beaches have seen their environmental value enhanced, and this, together with the quality and warmth of the water and the eternal sun, have made these coasts a favourite tourist spot for holidaymakers from all over the world.
Traditions
Torrox is steeped in traditions. As in the rural villages it's celebrations are related to the year's seasons.

In spring, Easter is celebrated with austere but emotional processions. On the 13th of June, the patron Saint Antonio is celebrated with a village wide party and three days of fiesta.
Cultural
Throughout
the year, but especially in summer, cultural and leisure activities take place
in Torrox : theatre, exhibitions, music concerts, flamenco and traditional
dances.
During the summer, some bars on the coast offer music shows and flamenco
performances. For the young, there are many pubs and discotheques. Those who
like sport can find suitable venues for playing football, basketball,
volleyball, aerobic tennis and swimming. On El Peñoncillo beach there is a
nautical school where windsurfing and canoeing can be practised. esides there
are almost infinite opportunities for trekking or mountain cycling.

Handicrafts
In Torrox, handicrafts are usually for the personal needs of the
local. In basketwork, cane, esparto, palm and the olive tree's branches are the
materials most commonly used. Handcrafted chairs usually are made of rush, pita
and leather. The forge preserves its
historical
traditions: overlays, balconies, banisters etc. Finally, we have to include many
modern handycrafts that are especially displayed and sold in the Market of
Handcrafted items on the Promenade during the summer months.
Gastronomy
Torrox has a traditional gastronomy that includes migas (breadcrumbs fried with
garlic) with sardines, cod, clams, olives, maimones (bread and oil soup), gachas
(porridge), ensaladilla arriera (muleteer salad) with segments of orange, papas
a lo pobre (poor man's potatoes), gazpacho de tomate (cold tomato soup)
ajoblanco (cold almond soup) and sardine and anchovy kebabs. Local wines are of
an excellent quality.
They are individually produced with muscatel grapes from the many local
vineyards.
Christmas is known for it's wine cakes and roscas made with eggs. And, of
course, the restaurants and chiringuitos (beach bars) have a very wide variety
of local traditional dishes including sardines, anchovies and other seafood.
